Trend: Tangerine

With class winding down at school, I had a ton of time to read my magazines.  InStyle had an article about mixing tangerine pieces into your wardrobe.  Although my top isn't tangerine (it's really not my color), I figured it was the same idea.  My previous post shows how I would style it if I had access to any clothing.

When I was putting this outfit together, I kept thinking Carmen Miranda meets the 50's.  I love how this basic top from American Eagle is amped up by the popping color and unique neckline.  I bought this skirt from Forever21 because it's simple enough to pair with all my obnoxiously bright shirts.  I channeled the 50's vibe through my low messy bun adorned with a black sparkle headband.

Let me know what you think of this outfit!  Do you like the hair?  Should I have worn dangle earrings?

I started creating this set with the basics- skirt, shirt, shoes, necklace- when I realized it was fairly boring. That's when I threw in a clutch in a GORGEOUS color. To keep it classy and chic, I added a pretty blazer. Let me know what you think!

Trend: Nautical

The nautical trend is nothing new, but it is truly classic.  If you ask me, I could see nautical trends to become as common as the LBD (little black dress).  It is clean, classic, crisp, and sophisticated.   It's perfect for a summer picnic, day on a boat, or going shopping because it's cool and causal.

For my outfit, I based it around my striped shorts that I got from Forever21 for $15.  I love the bow tie because it adds a feminine detail.  I paired the shorts with a ruffled white tank from Forever21.  My sandals are from American Eagle for $35.  I kept my accessories simple by wearing a James Avery silver anchor necklace.  I love how easy-going this outfit is, and the back of it is super cute with the razor back style tank and the flap pockets of my shorts.

Trend: Ruffle Dress

Ruffle dresses have been popping up everywhere I go. I live in Austin, TX and the style is very casual which is probably why this trend has been so viral. These dresses are simple, comfortable, and creates a waist on just about every body type.

I got my dress from Charming Charlie's. It's mostly a jewelry store, so I was surprised to find a dress like this there, but I loved it. It has little white doves and rope bows as the print. I paired it with a pair of gold wedges from Shoe Carnival and my jewelry is from Forever21.

Here are a few dresses I found at Forever21:

Printed Shorts

The latest trend that I'm in love with is printed shorts. I bought these from Forever21 for $10. They are floral, high waisted, and have a tie belt. I paired them with an old top from American Eagle to bring out the purple flowers in the shorts. I accessorized with a jade pendant. There isn't any jade in the shorts, but I liked the way that it blended without matching.

Anway, floral shorts are a fun and comfortable trend to try plus the high waist complimented my petite frame well. Let me know what you think!
